Maritime Arbitration Association of the United States added to California Yacht Brokers Association contracts.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA, September 20, 2007 - Maritime Arbitration Association of the United States (MAA) dispute resolution provisions have been added to the California Yacht Brokers Association's 2008 standard form contracts.

Starting in 2008, recreational boaters and yacht brokers in California using CYBA contracts will have the option of resolving their disputes fairly and efficiently with MAA arbitration. For more than a decade the CYBA has provided standard form contracts for use in vessel transactions, including brokerage listings, vessel purchases and sales, and broker-salesperson relationships.

The MAA is the national organization of the maritime community for alternative dispute resolution.

About the California Yacht Brokers Association

The California Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA) is the California state organization of yacht brokers and their affiliates. Founded in 1975, the CYBA is dedicated to conducting yacht and ship sales with integrity, dignity and a high standard of professionalism. California was the first state to require yacht brokers and sales personnel to be licensed and bonded. The CYBA requires its members to maintain higher standards than are legally required.
